RMLD was formed in 2015 by Mitch Petheram on his return from Canada where he enjoyed exploring the many recreational pursuits of the Rocky Mountains (hence the name!).
Mitch has a Diploma in Landscape Design and 15 years working in the industry in New Zealand and Canada, with a variety of experience from small to large scale maintenance as well as hard and soft landscape design and construction. Mitch has a strong interest in environmental beneficial planting and recently completed a short design course on food forest development.
The business began by maintaining a small number of rural properties in North Canterbury and by setting up his own lifestyle block. It steadily grew taking on new clients and staff, getting involved with all aspects of landscaping, including construction jobs and landscape/planting plans.
